Dr. Randy Huenefeld received his BS in Agriculture in 1982 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985 from the University of Missouri. After graduating, he and Dr. Kathy worked in O’Fallon, MO for a year then moved to Adrian, MO to start Rolling Meadows Animal Hospital.

His interest in veterinary medicine came from growing up on a small farm near Hermann, MO where his family raised cattle and hogs, and, as with most small farms, an assortment of cats, dogs and horses. He was also very impressed (and influenced) by the local veterinarian who seemed to have a vast knowledge of all subjects related to these animals and who was always adding new procedures or techniques to his practice.

In 2007, frustrated because traditional treatments were not completely resolving problems, practice changed in a big way when he took his first chiropractic course. Then in 2008, after acupuncture relieved long standing elbow pain on himself, he completed his first acupuncture course. Since 2007 he has trained or become certified in Veterinary Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Tui-na, Applied Kinesiology, Chinese Herbal Medicine and a variety of other forms of energy medicine.

Dr. Randy has been a lab instructor when time is available at OPTIONS for Animals, the Veterinary Chiropractic School located in Wellsville, KS. He also served several years as one of the US Examiners for the IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association), testing new chiropractic graduates in the US.

Since 2009, Dr. Randy has limited his work to horses and Complementary Medicine only in small animals.

Outside interests include fishing and traveling. He is also a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Goju Ryu (he owned a karate school and taught for 6 years). At home, is a slave to his hay fields, his four “yard ornament” horses, house cats, barn cats and an English Shepard. His two children are now grown and live in the Kansas City area.
